We
Are on their way again. That pimple in the Southern Ocean broke me. We climbed that damned Jacob's Ladder and walked a bit and back down that ladder and I still have muscle pain. But now there are waits again. 6 hours on 6 hours off. Wonderful regularity. Time for recovery. Usually we have to get used to swinging again, but that is not the case this time. It is also restless at the mooring of St H. Lots of swell and wind. You don't lie still there for a second. It has pros and cons. Naturally.
The island has a strong village character, everyone knows everyone. So people really look at you like: I do not know that one. Many tourists do not come here because of the high costs. Flying here in particular is expensive, but the cost of living is also expensive. They only grow a few things here themselves. Bananas, potatoes, some vegetables. No dairy products. They have tried, but it is not possible due to too few inhabitants. Importing is cheaper. As a tourist you can enjoy diving here (whale sharks and dolphins), walking and seeing a few sights. Napoleon, Jonathan, the rugged nature and not to forget the museum and Jacob's Ladder. There are also a number of walking routes for hikers. But that was it. We had a wedding there that was cool. We attended the wedding formalities in the Castle in the Governor's room. Some members of the English royal family were also in that room. It's funny, isn't it? The new official portrait of King Charles and his Camilla Parker Bowles also hung here.
I still remember an unpleasant telephone conversation between those two. There are some things you'd rather not hear.
The two man band during the wedding was great! We were able to sing along with many songs. I don't know if they really liked that.
Met many nice people. All in all a resounding success.
Greetings Mark and Ton.
