Daily report #121

Readers,

I'm just turning off the bilge pump. Every now and then you have to empty the bilge. A boat always leaks a little and so does this one. Although the movement of the ship, and therefore the swaying noise, has become a lot less, some water still enters the bilge through small leaks. We move back and forth a little more easily. The water is calmer. We still make good speed and with a bit of luck we will arrive in Porta Delgada tomorrow afternoon.
That would be great because then we can get a good night's sleep and use Thursday to do the necessary shopping. To move on again on Thursday evening. Mark and Ton's traveling circus.
With favorable winds we can probably complete the remaining 1600 M successfully before the month is out. For the time being, the forecasts for departure look favorable. You don't really know until the time comes.
I'm currently reading 'The Godforsaken Sea'. By Derek Lundy. That's a bit like watching 'Air crash investigation' before boarding a plane. Not such a convenient choice. But yes, I needed something to read and I quickly downloaded this in the little time we had on Cabo V. It's best not to search for 'sailing, non fiction'.
So we switched to the book week gift from Pfeifer. At least you can laugh about that. Costly reading.
Today is another day with lots of sun. However, the temperature drops daily. So in the not too distant future we will have to brave the cold again in full battle gear. On the way to our warm home.

Greetings from Ton and Mark
