Daily report #66

Dear Afrikaners and other people,
Cape Town. As I said, it was quite a challenge to get here. But what a party!
When we arrived, we already saw it. The amount of dirt and plastic in the sea that goes hand in hand with the presence of many. The hallmarks of civilization and abundance. The seals that look for a place in the harbor and are chased away because they are lying on a jetty next to yachts costing millions. Even mine is worth over a million. Edge. The singing and dancing population in the squares who earn money with it. A tourist spectacle that really makes you happy. Dancing and singing young people. It resembles African tribal dance, an expression of their culture. Would you think.
A Saturday and Sunday wandering around 'the waterfront'. Department store in and department store out. Tourist shop in and out. What a spectacle. Ate at a fish and chip shop. Calimari made in four different ways and a Leffe blond on the side. Why not. And watch rugby in the brauhaus. Again with a Leffe blond. But no senior table. Just among the young people. Why not. Go Springbok Go! Delicious steaks by the way.
Slept wonderfully. Wake up dreamless. Strolling, lingering, walking and planning little things. Monday we will start the rest of the journey again.
Tuesday we go to Robben Island. Everywhere you see Madiba's face, so we also want to see where he lived for 18 years. The legend.
Ate in a Scottish pub today. Behind the bar those typical Scottish people with their African appearance. No kilts. Friendly hospitable people. Ate a pizza; It was called South Africa. Naturally. Delicious. With a beer. Why not.
Immigration tomorrow. Then go after the necessary parts and do some odd jobs. The boat is almost 100 percent OK.
What's going on in the world? No idea.
And why not?
Sincerely, Ton and Mark.
