Daily Report #39

Readers,
I cry bitter tears. In my hand I hold the last amount of milk we bought on the other continent. Devondale Australian dairy full cream milk UHT. A drink of the gods. A drink of the gods. Full creamy taste, wonderfully cool, and then that excellent special taste of UHT milk. I'm not a fan, I'm totally addicted to whole milk, preferably with a long shelf life. It could be a reason for me to emigrate to Australia. I leave! I want to drink milk.
Mark had to listen many times when I had another glass, 'a liquid ice cream', 'DELICIOUS!' , 'God's nectar' , 'what a pleasure', etc. To the point where we discussed how it is possible that I like milk so much. And especially the UHT variant that is spat out by many.
Well, that UHT comes from my aunt Sietske who always had that long shelf life milk in those domo plastic bottles from the local spruce in the fridge. I liked it and that of course had to do with the very nice, cheerful and caring aunt that my mother's sister always is to me. I also worked for a long time at a farmer and when we were making hay in the summer and we came from the country, we drank raw milk straight from the milk tank and I always enjoyed that very much, really delicious! A fat content of more than 4%, but that didn't matter. Or it's in the genes because my pake Willem was also fond of dairy. Or was it the Mother's milk? I really only have positive associations with it. Like with the old school milk.
What now? Why don't we have a cow on board, I wonder in desperation. How do I get those 4! days without milk? Isn't there a Manatee somewhere? They probably have milk too.
Oh yes, is true. We also have powdered milk. Also from Australia. It's kind of Pepsi where you would like to have Coke or Crocs instead of Birkenstocks. But it has bubbles in it, you don't have to walk barefoot, it's MILK! FULL MILK.
Sometimes you have to make concessions.
You will understand where my shopping cart in the Carrefour will soon be the first to roll as if sent by an invisible hand..
