Dear readers,
You don't get used to it. The Hotze sloshing of the boat. There's no rhythm to it either. Suddenly - suddenly - you are lifted and the boat heels enormously. The next moment -slosh- she's back on the other side. It is a combination of moving across all axes of motion at the same time with changing intensity. While I am typing this blog while sitting on a fixed chair, I have my legs sticking out from under me to one side to absorb the swinging movements so that I do not slide off my chair. Meanwhile, all my muscles are working to keep me upright. Hence my excellent physical condition at the moment. Besides the fact that I eat much less than normal. And I have little fat left on my bones. You're doing abdominal exercises and bracing yourself all the time. You can also easily get hurt this way if you're not careful. I have crashed into or almost fallen over quite a few doorframes while getting dressed. However, I have only been injured by hot water. Everything is thrown through the cupboards all the time, which causes a lot of noise. You don't get used to it.
The weather was a lot better today. It was partly cloudy so we saw quite a bit of sun, which also made the temperature more pleasant. The sea water is 23 degrees. So we are slowly but surely approaching the hot weather. I also saw whole schools of flying fish jumping out of the water. During the day they never land on deck. So they still have to evolve to better night vision to avoid us. Darwinian work to be done. Now we don't really make it easy for them with our dimly lit black hull. Anyway.
As long as no orca or 400-ton whale lands on the boat... Although, they have echo location so they know we are a boat. So they only do that intentionally. Only say nice things about those animals. That will help.
Orcas brrr.
