Daily Report #49
Thursday, 27 July 2023
Hi dear followers,
Today was a beautiful day! So to speak, everything fell into place. The emergency tiller is ready (had to be updated a little bit by Ton) and the reduction box of the steering gear is also ready and has now been mounted. Together with all of Ton's cleaning and lubricating work, we can operate the rudder with the little finger. At least when we are stationary, but for that you needed some strong muscles to get the wheel round. Everything has been brought back to its original state and that is a very nice feeling.
In between I replaced the water pipe for hoses. The old brittle PVC pipes sometimes break off and usually on the way. That's what we've been up to now. After our evening beer at the Boucenier we received some visitors who wanted to see the inside of the ship. Immediately afterwards we had the third blackout. Not because of the drink, but because the battery had run out of power. That will be a new charger at the last minute. Job for tomorrow…
Tomorrow another trial run, refueling, shopping, checking the mast rigging and lights, returning the car, oh yes, buying a charger, cleaning, preparing the trip and paying the port and then we can finally go sailing again!
Delicious, wait, sleep, eat, and wait again. Rest and regularity and cleanliness will also be fine.
regards
Tony and Mark
