Daily Report #47

Dear mountain goats,

Chamois and other species. Beh,

Climbed a mountain today. It's a quirky island. La Reunion. Of everything here. Yesterday the passage to a crater that is inhabited and built. Where you see the edge of a volcano around you, you are not sitting on lava. And today another one. Did we walk a bit on the rim of that crater. Mark a bit more than me because he has been walking in the mountains all his life so it is impossible to keep up. There is also an active volcano with lava and so on, but we can't go there because it's Monday tomorrow. The day that comes straight after those two rest days so we go back to work. There's still plenty to do.
In the meantime we also look at the weather and the ports to be called on the South Africa route. It can be an exciting crossing.
Because of those colliding weather systems and water currents. There isn't too much information about passing the Cape but we'll just give it a try.
Like jumping rope; jump if possible.
Of course we have every confidence in it, but unofficially we are in no hurry. It is in the books that you should not be in a hurry. Hence, no rush. So we were able to play the tourist for a while and that is also quite nice. It is quite busy here because the French are almost on vacation and some a bit earlier.
Does not matter. If you don't want to be a tourist, stay home. And we are certainly not at home.

Regards Ton and Mark
