Daily Report #27
Saturday, 1 July 2023
Dear dear people, salt is a mineral,
The first day of the month of July. It's winter here. Not that I notice much of that because I'm sweating like the proverbial otter again after having done a number of chores. Cleaning cockpit, cleaning cabin, filling water bottles, vacuuming, starboard front winch lubricated. 29 degrees Celsius on the counter.
We are motoring again. We are in a wind wake. Ten knots of wind from behind is not a real wind speed of any use. Unfortunately we are on a tight schedule due to the time we lost and if we are running less than 5 knots we will never catch up. And that is necessary. This afternoon the wind will pick up again so then the sails can go back to work. You will see on the site that we have done everything we can to keep up the momentum. Yesterday we also sailed with the milkmaids for a long time, but that is a disaster of the first order if the wind is not blowing at least 15 knots. Been sweet (!) all night long. This morning I threw in the proverbial towel. Oh, motors, it's nice and clear. And you also sleep well on it. Amazingly enough.
I'm starting to nod a bit...
Warm regards, T and M
