Daily Report #16

Dear Saltwater Landers,

We learned from a certain person that the weather forecast models were wrong. So that is a myth or maybe it was true once. We were able to set our clock by it yesterday. At the stroke of 07h00 the wind started. A bit faltering and therefore little speed and a lot of messing around, but it went on. And certainly no more than that one dash in the bargeboard. 10 knots. Sorry little.
Last night and this morning we sailed a long way on the two foresails in a milkmaid setup. What a hassle. Clapping, all sorts of weird noises. Those milkmaids didn't feel like it. Finally at 10h00 I hoisted the mainsail and rolled up the cutter jib. Goodbye milkmaids. I love milk. And gradually it got better and now the wind is blowing 15 knots so we are going again. But calms and faints breed with your brain. 2-3 knots through the water gives a low daily average. You will never get there that way and then you can turn on the engine, but that is only possible for about five days. And actually I want to save some time when we call at a Dutch port. Damn it yet. And we still have some making up to do after all that stuff in Mackay and Darwin.

We're going to see it now we're walking nicely.
The Border Force… they have flown over every day since we sailed into the Timor Sea. Then we are called and they ask a number of questions that they really should know. Good old chaps! Real BorderForceForever!
The equipment is holding up well, but Mark seems to be coughing and feverish. His annual flu, he says. In the beginning after Sydney I also had a cough for two weeks myself, so it will be fine, we will keep an eye on it.
