Daily report #116

The wind.

It's going to blow. And then we are back in our element. We started engines at 900 miles to the next waypoint and we still have 540 miles to go. Motored 360 miles. 360 Litres. Almost half a tank. That's 400 Euro (on Cabo Verde). But we are still quite on schedule. Unfortunately, there are also a few problems. They force us to visit the Azores. The main engine exhaust is leaking. It is only 1.2 meters of heat-resistant hose that needs to be replaced, but it is a problem if you have to motor. Gases are leaking into the cabin and that is not the intention. All our attempts to stop the leaking seemed to reduce the leaking but not stop it. Not the right stuff on board. The hose still looks fresh, but it definitely isn't. At approximately the same time, the electric motor of the autopilot failed. That's not a problem while sailing because then we don't use it. While motorcycling you can also do without it, but with it it is possible
live easier.
Hopefully we can visit the Azores as quickly as we did in Cabo Verde. Then the loss of time is not too bad. Can we also do some shopping for two weeks because we were unable to take far enough things from CV? Scanty supermarkets.
