Ahoy Sailors!
Today we are going at 5-6 knots. With nice weather and a pleasant temperature. Little marine life. Just a meal of flying fish every morning. On deck. According to Captain Slocum, a great breakfast. We are going to try. We're not that fishy in the morning. I've almost finished it. The legendary book about the man who was the first to circumnavigate the earth alone. Nice detail, we have already crossed its keel line on the map a number of times. The book is the original edition in English so there are a number of things that escape me. But in that respect there is nothing new under the sun, although that news might escape me.
Today the last winch (rakes) was cleaned and re-greased. Runs like a charm again. I don't know how long ago they were serviced but everything was quite dry and the grease was hard. The bilge was also cleaned. Served yesterday's food and filled the water bottles for drinking and cooking. Busy busy busy. Yesterday we motorbiked for two hours. Suddenly the wind drops and you almost fall silent. A few hours later the wind picked up again. Until now. Tonight we will have another blue area (no wind). Then we will get wind from the other side and three quarters of the way through we will do the same from the other side and then hopefully we will end up in a south-westerly current. We are looking for the train of depressions that also affects our country. We must have that. Probably means a day of nice weather and a day of quiet sailing. That's okay, we have experience with that. Hopefully we will fly home very quickly. So that we arrive as far in advance as possible before the end of the month.
Greetings Mark and Ton.
