Dear readers,
Arrived in Darwin. The place where the Japanese carried out an attack on February 19, 1942. A historical fact unknown to me. Jasper knew about it. Naturally.
We were planning to moor in Cullen Bay Marina but there are quite a few rules in Australia. Before we can get in, we first have to arrange a place in the Marina and come with a number of papers. All information is already with the border force Sydney but that is in another state..
Bureaucracy. So we wait two days at the mooring on Monday so that we can arrange everything. There's plenty to do so let's get started.
We put the dinghy overboard and sailed from the mooring to the coast and had dinner and a beer at the local sailing club. Pretty tasty.
We now also have plenty of internet and are therefore fully aware of all events.
In retrospect we can say that we had a good trip with a lot of wind, a beautiful environment and a lot of sea life. That seems to work well in Australia, preserving nature. You are not allowed to fish in many places and there is a lot of control. You see animals swimming, flying and jumping out of the water everywhere; really fun. Just a bit of a pity that you can't take a dip. And the growth continues unabated. It's a never-ending battle.
Sincerely, Ton Bakker.
